    Hi,

Seems to be some problem with the redo log,
Can you post the content of alert log where you got this error.

And you are starting the database after a clean shutdown or crash shutdown?

    Regards
    Anurag Tibrewal.

    Database dismounted.

    SQL> shutdown immediate
    ORA-01109: database not open
Why the database was not open at this place? Any ways,
Can you post the alert log entry for this error.

    Regards

    $ORACLE_HOME/admin/SID/bdump
    or
    sql> show parameter background_dump_dest

go to this path and you will find alert_SID.log file.

small doubt - are you a DBA?

by the error, its clear that oracle is unable to read the file from the location due to IO error.
please contact sys admin/SAN team (if your files resides in storage area) to get help in resolving this error

    Hi,
O/S-Error: (OS 23) Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
That shows your redo log (REDO02.log) is corrupted and you may need to recreate it?
Before that I would like to know that your database was not crashed (last time you open) and it was normal shutdown.

    Regards
    Anurag
