question for java-opengl programmer!!!
Hi all,
can i make an opengl call in a java3d program? can i use java3d and opengl side by side. any help would be appreciated.

I believe Java3D uses native calls to the OpenGl API under the hood. Similarly it is possible to use Directx if it is on a windows machine.

You can not use opengl native method in Java3D application. But you can call opengl native method in Java application. If you want to use opengl method to build 3d application, you should design own structure, not use java3d scene structure.

Well, the only way you could make an OpenGL call from Java is to use native bindings. There is one such product (free-GPL) GL4Java:
