Data Mining Assistance

387095Feb 4 2003 — edited Feb 9 2003
We have a large repository of historical data and we are considering using data mining to identify our best customers. Currently, the data is in various database systems across several platforms. We are unsure how to start the project, how to determine the level of effort, what hardware and software is required, and the types of results we can expect. Any pointers would be appreciated.

William,

First of all I recomend you define your problem to know if it is a classification, clustering or other problem. After, find where are your data and make some exploration (maybe you will find some answers).

Paulo de Tarso
Oracle has some excellent consulting resources in this area. Contact your Oracle Rep and ask to be connected with a consultant with data mining experience.
