hello guys,
i have been learning XML since few days. i want to know that how, with the help of XML , can u retrive the data from an RDBMS, store it in an XML file (i hope it is done this way only, correct me, if i am wrong) and then finally display it in a formatted manner ?

plz. send in any suggestions/links/tips/explanations or anything to me, as i am feeling totally stuck up at present.

Thanx... Gaurav.

you can find a good collection of XML database products here:

    See the section '2.1 Middleware'!

You can use the Rowset API:

With this API, you can use a "WebRowSet" which takes database query results and translates them into XML.
    (And vice-versa!)
There are a number of ways of getting the data into the WebRowSet, the javadocs are fairly comprehenisve.

To transform the resulting XML, (as with all XML), you use XSLT which comes in various flavours.
