Why is DUAL called "DUAL"?

61224Jun 5 2003 — edited Jun 6 2003
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find it in the search:

Why is the DUAL table called "DUAL"? Is it meant to stand for something, a special meaning, or just a random name picked out of the hat (and one which people are not likely to use as their own table name)?

Cheers.

Might want to post this to the proper forum.. This is the ORDS (Formerly APEX Listener) forum.. The APEX support forum is located here:Application Express

Also here is an example of doing an Org tree in APEX using css3 coding: http://rokitta.blogspot.com/2013/12/pure-css3-org-tree-with-apex-list.html
