Flashback and Archivelog required ?

Hi
In order to use Golden Gate 11g on Oracle 11g , do we need to enable (a) Archivelog (b) Flashback ?

    Archivelog - no, but recommended. Replicat gets behind, where is it going to go for transactions once they're aged out of online redo logs? Plus, you can optionally have GoldenGate get transactions directly from archived redo logs.

    Flashback - has no bearing whatsoever on GoldenGate. However, what if you need to back out a transaction? You can use the reverse utility in GoldenGate, but it would be easier to use one of several flashback options within Oracle. The closest to reverse would be Flashback Transaction Backout.
