dear friends,
i have passed scjp with 90% of marks. Now i am planning to take a SCJD cert. Can anybody tell me which are the best references available?

The SCJD cert or as it's now called, the Oracle "Certified Master, Java SE 6 Developer" is a project based certification. Once you register for the exam you will be able to download the project specifications. You will then have 12 months from the time of purchase to complete the project according to the specifications and defend your design in an essay.

Since you passed the SCJP exam you should be quite familiar with the core Java language. Now it's time to really dig into the design of applications. I would recommend "[url http://www.amazon.com/First-Design-Patterns-Elisabeth-Freeman/dp/0596007124/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_cart_1]Head First Design Patterns". It has a very different style of presenting material but it gets the concepts across well in my opinion.

You'll also want a good reference book such as "[url http://www.amazon.com/Professional-Java-JDK-Clay-Richardson/dp/0471777102/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1304639450&sr=8-5]Professional Java JDK 6"

Last, look up the description of the [url http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_exam_id=1Z0_855]Developer Assignment on Oracles website and practice creating applications similar to what is described. Using what you have learned about design patterns and help from the reference book create several sample applications. Then try writing a brief explanation of why you designed it they way you did. Once you feel confident, take the exam. You have 12 months to complete the project from the date of purchase so you should have plenty of time.
