Hi,
When I am trying to refer to a image, which is uploaded in the APEX workspace, using #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#filename.PNG, the following path is displayed:
wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=1242829500438667&p_fname=<filename>.PNG
Any idea why the above path is shown, instead of image.
Thanks!

If you are trying it on a HTML region then have you followed the correct syntax?<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#filename.PNG" alt="">
See http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_img.asp -

To get an item to render as HTML, in the item definition page Security section set Escape special characters to No.
For a report column, ensure the Display Text As report column attribute is Standard Report Column rather than the default Display as Text (escape special characters).

When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
<li>Full APEX version
<li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
<li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
<li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
<li>Theme
<li>Template(s)
<li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
