Oracle service not starting

Hi Everyone,

I am on a 9.2.0.4.0 database,

we have been having powercuts over the weekend and now when i try and start the Oracle database SID service i get error;

Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start on control request in a timely fashion (this comes up instantly)

The TNS listener is up and running,

Nothing has changed on the machine.

If anyone could point me in the right direction of where to look i would be extremely grateful.

Hi,

Thanks for your help in the matter,

Just to let you know it was because the anti-virus had removed ORAWWG9.dll when i replaced this it all started,

Which OS name & version?

look for clues in OS log file

Seems like you are on Windows. As suggested, check the OS logs. If you would find that the service is not behaving properly you may want to remove it and recreate using the ORADIM .
