I just reviewed the upcoming collaborate14.ioug.org list of presentations.

There was nothing on Data Miner or Oracle Advanced Analytics !

Are these being replaced with this new thing called "Endeca" ?

When I filtered the sessons on Data Mining, this was about all I got back:

Easing Large-Scale Knowledge Discovery in Oracle Endeca With Big Data and Semantic Spaces

Not at all!.  Endeca is a separate product from Oracle Advanced Analytics and targets "information discovery" while OAA is focused more of predictive analytics, data mining, statistical analysis and "automated discovery of knowledge from large amounts of data".

For OAA, IOUG is a great conference but hasn't been the best draw for our OAA users (data analysts, business analysts, etc.)  People go and do present but not in sufficient focus for OAA community.  Consequently, we've been more focusing on our Oracle BIWA Summit BIWA Summit, Redwood City - January 14-16, 2014 - Home Page for these types of Oracle Advanced Analytics and data mining functionality and customer presentations/use cases.  At our most recent BIWA Summit 2014 that was held in January at Oracle HQ, there were a number of good Oracle Advanced Analytics, Oracle Data Miner, R integration etc. presentations.  [Endeca is also welcome at the Oracle BI, Warehousing and Analytics Summit and in fact Baljai and others presented on these topics as well.]  To see what I mean, you can download the presentations at for the BIWA Summit 2014 BIWA Summit, Redwood City - January 14-16, 2014 - BIWA Summit 2014 and BIWA Summit 2013 BIWA Summit, Redwood City - January 14-16, 2014 - BIWA Summit 2013 events.

So net-net:  IOUG Collaborate is a great event and you many find OAA customer presentations there, but in large part, we've decided to focus on the Oracle BIWA Summit BIWA Summit, Redwood City - January 14-16, 2014 - Home Page (an IOUG SIG), Oracle Open World and other regional user group events and some trade shows where more like minded, similar presentations gather..

    Hope this helps!
