install oracle and create odbc connection

This is first time I ever dealt with Oracle products. I usually install windows and sql express.
needed oracle version 10g
os : windows 7 64bit
I am asked to install oracle 10g on windows 7 64 bit version.
During the install of oracle 10g , I get errors like path string contains over 1000 caracter errors and have to click ignore to get it going.
Also, after installation, I am not able to install the odbc .
After trying for 2 hours straight, I am exhausted. Could some please reply me with URL to installer for oracle 10g 64bit and odbc installer? Also I would greatly appreciate it if I can get documentation
thanks in advance.

Pl identify exact version of "10g" and exact edition of Win 7.
The install guide documents the requirements and the install process.
You will need Win 7 Professional - Home edition is not supported for any Oracle install.
If you have Win 7 Professional, you will need to install 10.2.0.5, which is the only certified version. 10.2.0.5 is only available from Oracle's support site, access to which requires a paid support contract
