IR to XLS - export problem

Hi all,
I'm experimenting issues when downloading a big report. This report has between 50 and 60 columns, and I want to download it in XLS format. I know that exporting it to PDF may not be possible. But I don't know why it's a problem with the XLS format. If the report is smaller, no problem btw. Any clue? Do you know why is this happening? I don't have problems exporting to CSV, and I know I can open a CSV in excel and work with it. But I need the XLS option. Can you assist me in this? Thanks in advance!!
Dani.
