File Associations broken after Java update deployment

We have been having issues with broken file associations when deploying Java 8u31 in our environment. For the last few updates (most recently 8u31) the association with .jnlp files is broken and must be manually fixed on every machine.
Is this a know issue? Is there a known fix for this issue?
