Bug in a Stacked-Bar-Chart (V1.6) ??

Johnny Be GoodApr 26 2006 — edited May 15 2006
Hi There,

I have got a question concerning stacked bar charts (V 1.6).

I created a stacked bar chart (vertical) with 3 series, according to the
How-To document "Create a Stacked Bar Chart".
My x-axis should display dates (MON YYYY) in chronological order.
My queries for the series just look like the ones in the how-to document, but unfortunately the x-axis is blank. No dates or the like at all!

I already had a look on a numerous hints in the forum, but none of the tips was helpful in my case!

Does anyone has a clue what the reason might be??

Thanks very much in advance!!

Hi,
I've exactly the same problem the only difference is that my labels on x-axis aren't date but only text. And I can't find out how to work around.
I've also find another bug. If the last series of my chart is null no data are displayed at all even if first series are not null.
Does anyone know how to fix that bugs ?
Thanks

Exactly, I got that problem too.....with no data displayed if one series is null!
Does not really make sense, does it!? I mean, I would expect the remaining series to be displayed.
Maybe we have to work with the "decode" function in order to get the "null" to a
"o" (zero) value. Unfortunately I still have not found a solution.
Maybe there is a simple point that I do not see!?

I tried something with a nested select. With this solution my chart is displaying labels on the x-axis correctly, I don't get any no data found message but nothing is displayed in my chart. I have 4 series. First and last series are null. 2 and 3rd should display some values.
Does anyone has an idea how to fix that problem.

I've find a thread related to my problem 925194
It seems that to make a stacked bar working fine you need to build your queries with outer join a create a default 0 value with nvl. If you do so the chart display values correctly.

OK, I understand....but what do I do if my table does not have rows that contain "date"-fields of a specific month for example (my x-axis is made up of month of a specific year: jan, feb, mar etc.).
In this case even an outer-join is not solving the problem .
In this case I think I have to find a way to get my x-axis-values from "external" ...form outside of my table!

Have you got an idea how I might solve the problem??

Thank you !!
