Timestamping Issue

I have a .jar binary with code signed and timestamped. i used jdk 6 U 45 to sign and timestamp the jar. now when the cert used for code signed has expired the JRE has started throwing warning saying invalid cert. I understand the warning but jar was timestamped why timestamping isn't working here?
