FileConnection Exception in Midlet

Hi,
I'm trying file operation such as create and read/write files from my midlet. I have added API permissions javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read and
javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.write
when I tried to run below Code I see below error:
fconn = (FileConnection) Connector.open("/home/pi/javame8/charge.txt", Connector.READ_WRITE);
TRACE: <at java.lang.IllegalArgumentException>, startApp threw an Exception
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException
- javax/microedition/io/Connector.getProtocolInstance(), bci=28
- javax/microedition/io/Connector.open(), bci=19
- javax/microedition/io/Connector.open(), bci=6
- javax/microedition/io/Connector.open(), bci=3
Do I need to add more permissions here !?
Thanks,
Ashok

Hello Ashok.
Parameter "name" of the Connector.open() function is an URI, so it should be started with the name of the required protocol (scheme). In case of FileConnection it should be "file:///"
You can refer to the FileConnection getting started guide for more information: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/systems/index-156490.html
Also, you can use NIO File API instead of FileConnection: Files (Connected Limited Device Configuration, Version 8 (b75))

Alexey

I have changed file name to file:///home/pi/javame8/charge.txt file mode Connector.READ_WRITE to Connector.WRITE
now an exception thrown:
java.io.ioexception root is not accessible

FileConnection uses logical roots to map real filesystem.
Please use FileSystemRegistry.listRoots() function to list all available logical roots.
Еhe FileConnection URI should be the following: file:///<root_name>/<dir_name>
Or you can use default common root: Connector.open("file:////")
