Hi @RajendraLadkat,
Which version of Oracle, which version of sqoop, which version of HDFS, what distribution of Hadoop (if any), what is the hardware, what is your code, what is the exact error message and what have you already tried/investigated?
Have you checked it's not just a network issue?
Regards,
JeromeFr

Hi JeromrFr,
I am using oracle 11g express addition with cloudera CDH5. I am using sqoop import command. error message is "connection time out".
I have tried connection between CDH5 and oracle database which is located on different windows machine.
Thanks,
Rajendra

Hi Srinath,
Please find the below command which I am using.
sqoop import connect jdbc:oracle:thin:@ipaddress:1521:dbm1
–username system password <> - system.Employee -Target Directory name
Thanks,
Rajendra

What is - system.Employee?
If table name should be preceded by --table
An example sqoop import command is as follows:
sqoop import --connect "jdbc:oracle:thin:@ipaddress:1521:dbm1" --password "password" --username "username" --table "system.Employee" --columns "col1,col2,col3" --split-by "col1" --target-dir "/import" –verbose
