Export to Excel doesn't shown line break in APEX classic report

Hi ,
APEX version is : 5.0
I have a classic report whose column headers are generated using dynamically. The headers are actually APEX items whose values are determined during report runtime and accordingly the Column headers are generated.
For example : One of the column header is like this : &P30_X1.</br>&P30_X1_UTIL.%
This works fine when the report is rendered in web browser . But when i export the report to Excel , the </br> doesn't seem to work .
Any pointer here ?
Thanks

Hi
If you could convert the classic report to interactive report, this plugin would help you much in formatting the exported Excel. Moreover, it will export it as XLSX.
- Process Type Plugin - (IR) Report to Excel (xlsx)
Please take a look at its demo here

I hope that helps you or solves your problem

Also check Region2XSLTReport plugin: www.mirmas.si.
Demo: http://apex.mirmas.si/apex/f?p=111:34:
You can modify XSLT that ships with plugin to convert <br> to line break in column header.

Because Excel doesn't handle HTML very well.. You could modify the way you build your labels such that if the report is being downloaded versus displayed to use a CHR(10) instead of <br> ..

This suggestion will incur more issues for the poster, since they probably had a reason to use a standard report versus an interactive report..

That's why I said

Thanks Tony, i will give it a try

Hi Mahmoud,
This is a classic report and the search fields are dynamically created , so converting them to a IR report is difficult .

Why should you convert the report? The description says "This plugin uses the source queries of all report regions on a page, either a clasic or interactive"
