This depends on what your definition of clustering is.  MySQL Cluster 7.5 with the NDB storage engine is designed for 99.999% uptime.  Or you could use replication with a single master and multiple read-only slaves to split reads.  Or you could try the new group replication but it is not ready for production.

What are you trying to solve by clustering?  This will drive the approach you take.

What do you mean by cluster?

Are you looking for 99.999% uptime? Then you would want MySQL Cluster.

Are you trying to serve read heavy traffic?  Then standard replication with multiple read-only slaves would work?

Maybe you are looking at the new Group Replication (which is not ready for production yet).

What problem are you trying to solve?  That will drive your approach.
