Moving data from one schema to another automatically

Hi All,

Do we have any feature in Oracle 12c which enables automatic movement of data from one schema to another(history_schema) based on date range of the records in the table ? If not, what is the standard procedure to do this in oracle ?

You can create a scheduler job which does that.

For "HISTORIC DATA",

Use Flashback Data Archive [FDA].

License note:

FDA is included in all editions starting with 11.2.0.4

Before that, you well need to pay for the appropriate EE add-on.

You could also consider "In-Database Archiving".

You'll need to supply more information about your real requirements to get specific advice. I would question the need to do anything like this, just keep your data exactly where it is. Storage is cheap.

If you want to physically separate old data from new data then you must have a reason for this, so please explain.
