Importing csv with numbers with decimal points inserts integers

turns into

180085

It happens since version 4. I'm using latest release

Happens with every file. I just tried with a test file that contains:

MONTO

18.0085

102.3305

29.2373

29.661

115.2288

---

And the test table

CREATE

   TABLE "TABLE1"

   (

      "COLUMN1" NUMBER

   )

It happens with insert and insert script methods. Something to add is that my native language is spanish and I've been importing the configuration profile since 3.X. The issue started in version 4.1 (if I recall correctly), the 4.0.X versions worked fine.

I tried using just the period but still happened

the documentation says NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = "<span class="codeinlineitalic">decimal_character</span> <span class="codeinlineitalic">group_separator</span>"

so you should be good (dot should be interpreted as decimal separator indeed)

If you run "select 1/3 from dual", is the separator a  dot or a comma ? (presumably a dot according to your prior answer)

Are you using the import wizard for that CSV file ?

the query returns the answer with a dot.

And yes i'm using the wizard.

It seems to be working for me.

try using the INSERT SCRIPT import method, you can see the INSERT statements that we run that way

are you by any chance running that insert script under some other tool (e.g. sql*plus) that may default to the en_US locale ?

One difference i noticed

Mine doesn't show anything in data.

Also insert scripts generates this
