PHP7 + OCI8 looks very unstable, a lot of segfaults
Hello
I want to update php 5.6 to php 7, but I faced with lot of painful errors and segfaults.
I've submitted few bugs:
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=73206
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=73080
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=73085
Some slight code changes may work as workaround, but I can't use it on prod servers, still too buggy

The bugs are likely all related to bind requirement for memory locations to be accessible at bind & execute times. Since PHP 7's ref counting changed, PHP OCI8 was negatively affected because PHP was cleaning up zvals earlier than in PHP 5.6.
Try Frank's patch in https://bugs.php.net/patch-display.php?bug_id=71148&patch=oci8-php7-bind&revision=latest
It seems to fix all your issues. Let us know and we will merge the patch to PHP.

An updated OCI8 2.1 package is now on PECL. The same code has been in the PHP 7.x branches for a few weeks.
