JavaFX - SOA - Where to start?

Hi guys
I'm a PL/SQL, Forms, EBS developer and am moving to a project where I've been asked to gen up on the basics of JavaFX needed for a SOA project.
Not a java person at all, and so a bit clueless on where to start with JavaFX for SOA needs.
Can anyone point me in the right direction so that I'm not needlessly getting lost in bits of it that I won't need?
Thanks very much
Scott

I'm no expert on SOA (an old buzzword that I never really bothered to read up much on), but I guess maybe they're talking about JavaFX with Web Start and a bundled JRE? These would seem to make it meet requirements for a "self contained, Internet delivered" service. You might need to get more clarification on the specific objective...
Not sure if this would help or is even the best starting place, but I suspect you'll need to read up on these topics anyway: Deploying JavaFX Applications: Self-Contained Application Packaging | JavaFX 2 Tutorials and Documentation
Hopefully someone more read up on SOA will provide you a better response...
