License of using MySQL Community Edition as database

869960Oct 28 2016 — edited Oct 29 2016

I am new to MySQL. I am impressed with good performance of MySQL.

I am reading MySQL Community Edition licensing, i.e. GNU Public License. For my understanding,

1. it is free of charge to use MySQL Community Edition in my in-house commercial usage, regardless how I use MySQL as database to store data;

2. it is free of charge to allow me to recruit a company to develop applications by any programming language and take MySQL Community Edition as database.

Am I right?
