The future of Oracle Nashorn

Hi,

Some Java 9 features were withdrawn. For example, JSR 223: Scripting for the JavaTM Platform.

We are doing some researches about how to use Javascript and the JVM to develop communication systems using SIP protocol. But we have some doubts about the future of Oracle Nashorn, it's not as popular as it deserves to be.

Can we trust in oracle nashorn to develop next generation SIP Server without the feeling of the product will be withrawn ?

Nashorn developed in Java programming language by Oracle is a JavaScript engine. It has been released with Java 8 and is based on the Da Vinci Machine. The project was announced first at the JVM language summit in July 2011, and then confirmed at JavaOne in October 2011.
