Can one use a different IDE?

Previously I had installed Eclipse as my java IDE, is there need for Netbeans?
or netbeans is a setup requirement for this course?

You're welcome to use Eclipse. The only thing is, homeworks are distributed as NetBeans projects. So to use Eclipse, you'd just have to extract the .java files from the src folder and place them in an Eclipse project. You might also need to double check the package declarations, depending on how you've setup your Eclipse project.
