Deployment Exception after adding BI Publisher 12c jars as dependency

Hello Folks,

We have an application that was using the xml publisher java apis to generate reports.

Now that we have BI publisher 12c installed, we copied the latest jar files for the java api in our application.

There was one additional new jar that was needed for the api to compile: xdo-server.jar

After this, the application compiles fine, but whenever we try to deploy the ear file to the weblogic server, we get the below error:

<Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149265> <Failure occurred in the execution of deployment request with ID "26494656939212" for task "2" on [partition-name: DOMAIN]. Error is: "weblogic.management.DeploymentException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.as.scheduler.RuntimeServiceLocal"

Obviously there is a library missing which holds the class

    oracle.as.scheduler.RuntimeServiceLocal

I'm not sure if this class has anything to do with yor bi stuff. Have you checked if the bi jars are deployed to the server?

The missing class appears to belong to a jar related to ESS.

I haven't figured out exactly which jar or how to obtain it.

Is BI dependent on ESS ?

Also, the BI jars are packaged within the .ear file and since the deployment fails, the BI jars are not deployed to the server.

There possibly is a dependance between BI Publisher and ESS. The missing class is only found in the ess.jar.

    Do you have this jar?

Thanks Timo for figuring out the missing jar.

In the OBIE installation folder, I see essBase and other related jars but ess.jar is not present.

Do you know how I can get this jar?

Sorry, no. I just tried to find the class using jarSearch tool.

You can try to locate it in your defined libraries using tools-manageLibraries and enter the class name into the search box.

If the class is found the tool will tell you in which library.
