Difference between Java JDK and Java SE

LauryFeb 14 2018 — edited Feb 14 2018

Hi,

If, from the Oracle site, I try to download the Java software, I get (for instance) a zipped file with a name containing for instance Java JDK 1.7.0.
If, I check the installed version, I get Java SE 1.7.0.

Can someone explain me the difference between Java SDK and Java SE?

Why these names "Java JDK 1.7.0"  and "Java SE 1.7.0".

Kind Regards
