Setup file won't execute Oracle Database 18c
Hello,
I downloaded the .zip file of oracle database 18c and i extracted the entire archive into a folder. Before start setup i stopped my antivirus and firewall but setup won't start.
If anyone has a solution I'm glad to hear it.
I use windows 7 ultimate as operating system.
I even disabled the UAC rights without any result.

Me too facing the same issue. Were you able to resolve the issue by now?

Running the setup in a standard user account didn't work, but running it in the administrator user account worked.

Per the Installation Guides - installation is to be performed as an Administrator.

I am having the same issue and even installing as Administrator does not work for me. It has been hanging on the red 18c Oracle Database screen with a blank Oracle Database 18c Installer window.

In addition to what has been posted, can you post:
- The full name of the zip file you have downloaded
- The full Windows version you are installing on
- The user under which you are performing the installation as well the group(s) it belongs too

Hey,
I solved my issue by renaming the folder containing the setup. I removed the space from the folder name and the setup file started running.

Remove all the spaces in the name of directory. You are welcome.

Right-click on the Setup and select Run As Administrator.

It's always better to choose the best practices:
1. Install VirtualBox or VMWare
2. Install Linux inside
3. Install and test database 18c in that virtual machine
Because in a production environment, no one will have Windows 7.
Problems with different operating systems are different, and you should know the right things on the right time... better to use your time on real cases.
