Problems installing oracle developer tools for VS Code

After I install oracle developer tools for VS Code I get the following error:
"Starting client failed. Launching server using command dotnet failed."
If I try to connect to an oracle database i get the following: "command 'extension.oracleconnect' not found OR 'couldn't start client OracleLanguageServer'
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling. Nothing seems to work. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,

The "command dotnet failed" suggests that .NET Core runtime is not installed.
You can get the direct links to the .NET Core runtime at the top of the quickstart. Let me know if that fixes it for you:

Hi Christian.
It worked for me.
Thanks.

FYI-- We just released a new version of the extension ( version 19.3.1, released 7/31/19) which among other things includes a Oracle Database Browser tree control. Please try it out and let us know what you think. If you don't have automatic updated enabled see the quickstart for instructions on how to update:

Hi Christian.
I'm experiencing the same problem on Mac OS, even with the dotnet core runtime installed.
Also, on the output console I got the following:
Information:10/14/2019, 4:05:07 PM:Oracle Developer Tools for VS Code activated![Error - 4:05:07 PM] Starting client failed
Launching server using command dotnet failed.
Error:10/14/2019, 4:05:07 PM:{"killed":false,"code":127,"signal":null,"cmd":"dotnet --list-runtimes","stdout":"","stderr":"/bin/sh: dotnet: command not found\n"}
Error:10/14/2019, 4:05:07 PM:.NET Core Runtime version 2.1 or later not found
And that's the output from dotnet on my machine:
> whereis vscode
> dotnet --list-runtimes
Microsoft.NETCore.App 2.1.13 [/usr/local/share/dotnet/shared/Microsoft.NETCore.App]
I've already logged out and in and even restarted VS Code many times. Do you have any hint?
Thanks in advance.

Adding the path to dotnet in the .bash_profile file resolved this for me
