Oracle SDDM - Snowflake forward engineering and generate Snowflake correspding DDLs.

Hi All,

I am currently evaluating Oracell SDDM with snowflake, does this tool support in generating Snowflake DDLs. I can connect to snowflake and can do a reverse engineering but not able to do a forward engineering to Snwoflake.

Hi Lakshman,

no it doesn't generate DDL for SnowFlake. Basically you can do what ever DDL generation you want - just need to spent some time for learning this -

If you stick with the basic data types supported by Snowflake, Oracle DDL from SDDM will execute in Snowflake fine as we have aliased most of the common data type (and support ANSI SQL). Just stay away from LONGs, BLOBs, CLOBs as we do not support those. You can add a custom datatype if you want to generate DDL with a Snowflake VARIANT column. To be clear on the forward engineering, you will have to generate the DDL then copy that into the Snowflake UI to execute.
