try this, maybe can help you
import java.awt.*; import javax.swing.*; public class TestImageCenter { public static void main(String[] args) { ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(TestImageCenter.class.getResource("/resources/images/imagen.png")); JLabel iconLabel = new JLabel(icon); JPanel iconPanel = new JPanel(new GridBagLayout()); iconPanel.add(iconLabel); JPanel textPanel= new JPanel(new GridLayout(0, 1)); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { textPanel.add(new JLabel("Hello, Oracle Communities")); } JPanel mainPanel = new JPanel(new BorderLayout()); mainPanel.add(textPanel); mainPanel.add(iconPanel, BorderLayout.WEST); JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, mainPanel, "Center Image Dialog", JOptionPane.PLAIN_MESSAGE); } }

I got it.
So try this code to scale the image, 'cause that size is too large for the optionPane
ImageIcon icon = (ImageIcon)UIManager.getIcon("OptionPane.errorIcon"); Image image = icon.getImage(); Image scaledImage = image.getScaledInstance(20, 20, Image.SCALE_DEFAULT); Icon scaledIcon = new ImageIcon( scaledImage ); yourLabel.setIcon( scaledIcon );

Thx for your help...but the scaling will only work on fixed scale %
I did some search and look like it's a know issue, fixed on version 9 ...im using 8...
