Are ad hoc queries allowed in oracle forms, like it was in SQL*Forms 3.0?

I.e. in 'enter query mode' you enter a kind of bind variable in some fields ( :abc ) , wher you enter 'exceute

query' a splash screen appeares where you enter where conditions/

Technically yes, but by default it is now disabled.

    Search for FORMS_RESTRICT_ENTER_QUERY in default.env (10g) in the server-configuration .

Note : it is by default disabled for security reasons! (as far as i remember because there is feedback of sql-statements if you enter something invalid).
