SQLcl - Feature request: Make <enter> accept the current statement

Currently in editing mode, the <Enter> or <Return> key inserts a newline. Please add an option to make it accept the current statement as if I would have entered <End> just before <Enter>.

The current behavior is ultimately frustrating and I really appreciate the added value of SQLcl over sqlplus.

Thanks for considering.

Should I rephrase the question then? I want an option to make <Enter> behave as Ctrl-R: Ctrl-R works but is two keys and - at least for me - very much not intuitive. I hit <Enter> all the time meaning Ctrl-R.

That option could be implemented two-fold:

    1. Swap the meaning of <Ctrl-R> and <Enter>
    2. Make <Enter> behave as <Ctrl-R>, leave <Ctrl-R> as is and add <Ctrl-Enter> as the current behavior of <Enter>
