SQL developer error display with question mark

Hello,

I'm using Oracle sql developer 21.4.2.018 Build 018.1706 and when I get error they are displayed with question mark:

ORA-00942: ¿¿¿¿ ¿¿ view ¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿

ORA-06512: <Sometable Name>, ¿¿¿¿¿ 1

How can I fix this?

where are you from? your OS will report region/country via the jdbc driver and the database will try to respond in the appropriate language

you can set some of these yourself in the preferences under NLS

you may need to artificially update the region for SQL Dev as shown here
