Edition Based Redefinition - Edition creation performance

Hi all,

We've been using Edition-Based Redefinition (EBR) in production for about a year and have started to notice that the creation process is becoming slower and slower (taking minutes). In one database it's taking around 10 minutes and has recently started to degrade on some other databases too. Our first thought is that the amount of old editions may be impacting it as we have a strategy of frequent releases, thus many editions (tens for now but can become hundreds in the long term).

Is there any advise on this? Would retiring and dropping old editions help? Any other tips?
