MDS column reorder/resize issue

I'm using JDeveloper 12.2.1.4.0 and I have file-based MDS configured. It's working well for saving searches, but on pages where we have a query component with saveQueryMode=default, neither the reordering of columns nor resizing of columns is persisted. If I change saveQueryMode to "hidden", reordering and resizing is persisted, but we lose the ability to save searches. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a workaround or patch available that addresses this?
