Shortcut Keys problem with "option" key on mac

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone had the same issue: On the mac version, when I assign a new key for the "Previous Word Start" command and set it to "option+left arrow" SQL Developer interprets it as a double option+left arrow (shown on the following screenshot):

The strange thing about this is that it does work when I save it, so, the program does recognise the combination. However, when I quit the application and relaunch then the shortcut entry changes to a single option key + left arrow (check following screenshot) and then the application no longer responds to the shortcut.

Any ideas why the app won't persist the original option with the double option key that works?

I have at least two conflicts for that shortcut combo...do you when you go to set it?

No. I may have had them initially and then changed them but no conflicts now.
