One of our oracle report gets populate in XLS format while using IE browser report name as "RWSERVLET.XLS".

But while running the same reports using chrome/edge , same file name (RWSERVLE) without extension name (XLS) gets generated.

Can some one suggest what to do to have extension file name in the file using chrome/edge.

    Hi,

    Change your registry to set the default application as EXCEL to open .xls format.

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.xls\Default

    Add for:

    --> Value data: EXCEL.EXE

    Thanks, Suresh

    Hi Suresh, thanks for the information, but unfortunately we have Linux server not the windows server and suggested changes can't be implemented. So problem still persist.

    I did some R&D and got to know that chrome doesn't support Save options due to some security reasons, but it does support "Save As ".

    Now the question is that using WebLogic application/chrome browser how to instruct the Oracle report server to go for "Save As" with file name , in place of "Save".
