Drag from windows into forms

I got a new requirement a few days ago on a new screen to upload files from users locals to the app server. Some of these users requested the functionality of dragging files from windows desktop or file explorer window into the oracle forms application.

Ive been reading that this could be achieve using java bean but i know nothing about java. Could any of you provide some guidance about if this requirement is really possible and maybe some documentation/examples on how to get it work.

Thanks in advance

Yes, a Java Bean would be the only way to accomplish this if you wanted the functionality built directly into the form. If you don't know Java, this will not be a simple task regardless of how easy or difficult the code needs to be.

There are some examples that show how to drag/drop text, but this is a bit different than dragging files. However, it may offer you some insight as to the level of difficulty involved.

Do a Google search and you should be able to find at least a couple of examples.
