Font Size in Character Mode Report
Hi ,
I have to print a report in a pre printed Stationary, which has tabular columns The columns are little bit small . when i have bigger data say value like 9999999.45 it over prints on the pre printed text. is it possible to reduce the size of the data at these places and be normal in other parts of the report.
i.e. Font size reduced inside the tabular column and normal for the remaining part of the report
Will appreciate the help

Hi,
Inorder to achieve this you may need to insert the escape characters between the tabbed column where you need to reduce the font size..
The ascii characters also help which you may need to insert which depends on the manufacturer of the printer. -
Font size in character mode report cannot be control through Oracle Report.
<br><br>
You can use report .prt file or manually set the printer to print character in small size.

It is possible and I have done it...
Open the report output (txt file) in edit in dos mode.
Press ctrl and some keys u will find ascii chars getting displayed.
Based on the printer we need to insert the ascii chars to reduce the font.
then copy the ascii and paste in the oracle reports...
u will find the amazing result -
That's very interesting observation!

Thanks, Let me try it on my side.

Dear ALL
thanks for the support ..
Actually i couldnt get the report in text file and try the ascii code rather i had a help from another friend which was successfully implemented.
I selected the first item in the report and in its property pallette.. Advanced Layout
Printer code Before i gave &1
this reduced the size of the entire report which solved my problem
hope this works in all other character mode report meant for Dot Matrix Printer
