Enterprise manager logon

I have installed Oracle 10gr2 on a windows 2003 server. I am able to connect to the database and run queries.

When I try to logon via enterprise manager, I get the login screen and enter the username/password. Then click login - I am immediately returned to the login page. When I purposely put in the incorrect password it tells me it is incorrect. So it appears I am connecting to the db, but cannot get past the login page to another page.

Thank you in advance.

Check status of users DBSNMP and SYSMAN, they must not be LOCKED.

What are the latest entries at the enterprise manager logs? %ORACLE_HOME%\hostname_sid\sysman\log

    In the emdctl.trc file -
    (error = 10061)

Well, it looks like it is Windows who is rejecting the connection. Do you have the windows security firewalls enabled? In that case, try to disable them and check if it works.

    No firewalls.

Is there something that needs to be done to allow "web" or IE connections?

Make sure the administrator that installs Oracle is not also in the GUEST group. That one caught me.

In addition, I needed to apply Patch 4703814 to get rid of another problem that had a similar message.

It appears it did not like the underscore "_" in the server name.
