making non database item editable

Hello experts
Could you please tell me how can i enter a value in the non database item field.After executing a query
when i want to enter another query then i am not able to enter the the value in the non database text field.
can you please tell that how can i enter value in the non database item for enquiry.

Did you set the query-allowed property to true on the non-database item?
