Can you help me....?? I am novice to apex...

First We installed Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.2.0.
Then i have dowloaded Oracle Companion CD from OTN..(Oracle Database 10g Companion CD Release 1 (10.1.0.2))
I just succesfully installed Oracle Http Server and HTML DB..(http://server:7777/)

What will I do next...??

    Hi Ivyflora,

After installation of Apex, you should be able to see the Apex Login page in the browser.

The url will be something like http://hostname:8080/apex where 8080 is the port of the HTTP server, it can be different in your case.

You should see a login screen. To start with, login with the following credentials:

    Workspace – internal
    Username – Admin
    Password – htmldb

Now you can create further workspaces, or follow the Apex tutorial on the Oracle's website.

    Hi,

Download the lastest version of apex:

You have done half way on the installation process, just follow the installation guide, and I am sure you can get it.

    It is quite easy anyway.

    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/install.310/e10496/toc.htm

Makesure you check the pre-installation requirement at the installation guide.

Just follow the guide, very carefully.

And the apex homepage is a very good place for essential informations:

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/index.html

    Guys,

Could you please help me out here.

I am trying to install APEX 3.1.2 into my Oracle 10gR2 (10.2.0.1.0).

I have gone through all the pre-requisites, including installation of mandatory Oracle TEXT components. I did this by running the scripts:

    $ORACLE_HOME/ctx/admin/catctx.sql

And then I tried to install APEX (initially, I downloaded the *.zip files from OTN) by running (as SYSDBA) :-

    C:\apex>sqlplus

    SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Fri Sep 12 19:21:53 2008

Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.

    Enter user-name: /as sysdba

    Connected to:
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options

    SQL>@apexins appl_exp_data appl_exp_data temp nolock

    Session altered.

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

Application Express installation requires the Oracle Text database component.

    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
    ORA-06512: at line 4

Disconnected from Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options

    C:\apex>

As you can see above, it's saying Oracle TEXT database component is not installed whereas I believe it is.

Can you please help me troubleshoot here. Also, is there any way, I can cross-check whether Oracle text is installed or not ?

Your cooperation is highly solicited & thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Vijay
