ok thanks I already connected 10g to VS 2008
I installed enterprise edition 11g. I did not find any hr_main.sql in db_1\demo\schema\human_resources so I copied it from here. Then I followed the instructions to run it and most was succesful but there are some errors:
Warning: Procedure created with compilation errors.
AFTER UPDATE OF job_id, department_id ON employees
ERROR at line 2:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
AFTER UPDATE OF job_id, department_id ON employees
What does this mean
Thanks
I am just a beginner may be better I install 10g XE for exercise?

Were you connected as HR when you tried to create the trigger?
Enterprise Edition of 11g should be fine as long as you do not use it for commercial development.
Since you are a beginner, I would recommend you to stick with XE (10g or 11g) for a while, till you get hold of the things. -
ok I installed 10g and got the sample schemas but now I can not connect from Visual Studio 2008
which ODT should I install to get Oracle Explorer etc.
What will be the connection string
The point is in the company we have 10g, so I want to have similar environment
thanks -
I do not have detailed knowledge of Visual Studio 2008 hence cannot comment on what you are asking for.I can not connect from Visual Studio 2008If you could post the error that you are getting, it might give a clue.
