Hi,

I want to be able to open a report in PDF from Application Express 3.1.1.00.09.
When I click on the "Print" label my browser goes to the following URL: [http://<host>:<port>/pls/htmldb/f?p=103:3:11804440931356350054:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R1018426276635278_en-us]
The content of the page is: *"Page cannot be displayed"*

If I try to change the Output Format to XML it WORKS.

Does anyone have a clue on where my application chockes?

The Print Attributes for the report region is:

Enable Rpt. Printing: YES
Link Label: Print
Response Header: Report Settings
View file As: Inline
Output Format: PDF +(Works fine when XML)+
Report Layout: Default Report Layout
Print Server Override:
Print URL: f?p=&APP_ID.:3:&SESSION.:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R1018426276635278

Thank you in advance.

BR Kenneth

    Kenneth,

You need to use Oracle BI Publisher v. 10.1.3.2.1 or newer. Oracle BI Publisher is the new name for Oracle XML Publisher, and v. 10.1.3.2.1 is the first version to include the /xmlpserver/convert servlet. Alternatively you can also use the free Apache FOP configuration.

    Kenneth,

Have you configured a print server? PDF printing, and export to Word or Excel require a print server to generate the print document. Instructions for how to set this up can be found here:

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html

    Hi Marc,

    Thank you for your reply.

A print server has been installed (Could not see any specific configuration option which needed to be set) and running.

I'm using the print server multiple times a day.

Is there any specific confirguration I need to do on the print server in order to be able to print PDF documents? By default it works fine if the output format is XML.

    Kenneth,

XML output is not using a print server, so that should always be working. Could you please let me know which print server you're using? Also, could you please post the exact print server settings you entered into your Application Express's instance settings?

    Thanks,
    Marc

    Hi Marc,

Okay. Sorry. Just noticed that the URL was the same, so I thought XML also used the print server.

I'm using XML Publisher version 4.5

    My print server setting are:

    Print Server: Standard
    Print Server Protocol: HTTP
    Host Address: dkerpapp11.bkogc.com
    Port: 8002
    Script: /xmlpserver/convert
