How to remove the old version of Oracle

668647Nov 5 2008 — edited Nov 6 2008
Hi,

After upgrade 9i to the later version, I need to remove 9i via using OUI. I chose 9i Home and the "remove" button is not visible. How can I remove 9i from its inventory? If I physically remove it, doesn't it help to clear cache from OUI?

Thanks for your information.

Have you tried running OUI from the upgraded home?

Yes, i run OUI from the upgrade and software CD, but still doesn't work.
How can I run OUI from version 9i when we patch OUI so many times?

Thanks for answering

Did you upgrade Oracle in the same home as that of 9i? If yes, then how you are able to see the old Oracle home yet?

No, I installed 10g on another home then do the upgrade.

The old version of 9i is still there when i run OUI but can't remove.

Thanks,

Now, I understand why I can remove 9i software... thanks for giving me a hint, but I need another help to delete 9i database. I run dbca from 9i version and it's gray out the "delete database" Is there a way I can remove database using script since GUI doesn't work?
