I use oracle client and ODBC but still find no luck.

while testing  connection via oracle wire protocol

it gives error like :[ oracle wire protocol driver]

" Connection refused . Verify hostname or port number. "

[ODBC oracle wire protocol driver] [oracle]

"ORA-12203: unable to connect destination"

    The error messages are quite explicit and also easy to understand.

    You need to figure out if

    a. You have the network configured correctly

    b. You have the connect-string configured correctly

    are you able to tnsping your tns string ? (it will be in your tnanames.ora file). If no then you have problem with connection settings, correct that.

    Also what is the output of lsnrctl status command?
