import a SHA-256 certificate got error message

Do anyone know why it prompt error
1. command "keytool -genkey keyalg ... " to generate the certificates file, "cacerts" (Result : successfull)
2. Use command "keytool -certreq ....." to generate CSR file (i.e. *.p10)
3. sent the p10 file to PKI Support , they generate the certificates (p7b file) and sent back to us.
4. Use command "keytool -import " to import the certificate in to cacerts, e.g.
keytool -import -trustcacerts -alias validtest -file certnew-b64.p7b -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit, and error is found /w following message.
keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Certificate chain in reply does not verify: 1.2.840.113549.1.1.11 Signature not available
Java : 1.4.2 update 28
Apache : 2.0.64
Is it the java too old, should we use 1.7 or 1.8 instead?
Regards,
Wilson

I have the same issue. I'm on JDK 1.4.2_19
I guess the problem comes from the lack of root certificates which those certificates are linked to. In my case it's RapidSSL
