ODAC 12.1.0.24 performance issue

3266817Jun 28 2016 — edited Jun 29 2016

Hi

I have a performance problem when I use linked table in Access 2016.

A huge table (~270 million rows, ~ 40 Gbyte tablesize) has been successfully imported, but when I tried to run a simple query (select top 10 *) the Access application goes to "not responding" status and I have to wait about 40 minutes.

It is work properly via Microsoft driver in Office 2007,  but in the new Office version it is not supported.

Is there any workaround or "best performance" settings to use huge table? (row limit or cache)

Kind Regards,

Gabor

Answer

With the MySQL 8.0 series, there are releases every three or so months that do include security updates. That is unless there is something urgent that needs to be updated.  Watch the release notes for updates https://dev.mysql.com/doc/relnotes/mysql/8.0/en/
